The purpose of this project is to create a modular rear engine race car for very cheap using mostly parts from Honda Accords. I picked up a manual Accord for cheap at the auto auction for the main parts, now it is on to the planning phase.
I will be fabricating the racer in three pieces; the driver's compartment, rear section, and front section. The front and rear sections will bolt to the driver's section so I could hypothetically have another fabricated section in case of damage and continue an event.
I will also be trying out fabrication of a push rod suspension system to keep the height down... And fiberglass/Carbon body making. Might be good or a nightmare.
The SLC Aero is the closest analog I have to the idea in my head, so I refer to it for inspiration.
The Aero's body was mocked up in foam so the mold could be made. It would be nice to pick up a few body panels from SLC (like the front fenders), but I will probably have to make my own since they don't sell to non-Aero owners.
