Health and Nutrition Services

Meal Programs

All of our participating senior centers participate in both congregate meal and home delivered meal programs to help ensure the basic wellness of our seniors. If you or a loved one is lacking a proper nutritious meal or is unable to obtain one by normal means; give your local senior center a call and we'd be glad to assist you.

GI Senior Dine

Our pilot project in Grand Island, NE offers a voucher based dining experience at the local Hyvee Cafe for those seniors who may not be able to get down to the senior center as often as they should during their busy week. If you would like more information on the voucher program, follow the GI Senior Dine link for the full brochure.

Living Well Program

Living Well is a Chronic Disease Self-Management program which is evidence-based. The program is a 6-session interactive workshop that helps people who have on-going health conditions learn real-life skills for living a full, healthy life. Participants learn how to take small steps towards positive changes and healthier living. The workshop will build participant confidence and improve their ability to manage day-to-day life.

Excercise Classes

We also have many activities held throughout our service area designed for our older population to regain much of their mobility that they may have lost over the years and to promote better balance that will help prevent falls from occuring. Two of our most notable classes are Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance and F.R.O.G (Fitness Reaching Older Gens)
